Terms of Service

Last updated 15 August 2026

These Terms govern your use of mapv.io. mapv.io is provided from Cyprus by Alexandros Magos, an individual operator rather than a company or organisation.

Service provider address: Armonias 11, Larnaca 6046

Questions can be sent to [email protected]. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Free beta

mapv.io is currently offered as a free beta. mapv.io does not currently charge subscription fees, take payment for the service, sell travel, or take payment on behalf of a travel provider.

Beta features can change, be limited, be removed, or later become part of a paid offering. If mapv.io introduces charges, pricing and any materially updated terms will be presented before you are charged. The current beta does not authorise mapv.io to charge a payment method.

2. The service

mapv.io helps organise travel plans, including itinerary items, routes, places, timing, bookings, packing lists, weather, trip visualisations, public trip sharing and optional AI-assisted features. Some features depend on third-party services.

mapv.io is a planning tool. It is not a travel agency, booking service, emergency service, professional guide or safety-critical navigation system.

3. Your account

You are responsible for information submitted through your account, for keeping your password and recovery material secure, and for activity through sessions you authorise. Provide a working email address so account/security messages can reach you.

Do not access another user's account, bypass permissions, interfere with the service, automate abusive traffic, introduce malicious code, scrape or misuse third-party provider content, or use mapv.io for unlawful activity.

4. Your content and information about other people

You retain your rights in trip plans, notes and other content you create. You give mapv.io the limited permission needed to store, process, back up, transform and display that content so the features you request can operate, including temporarily processing booking evidence and sending necessary content to the service providers described in the Privacy Policy. Direct booking-document imports are parsing inputs rather than persistent booking-file storage; mapv.io removes the local raw/body/file evidence after the extraction reaches a terminal state as described in the Privacy Policy.

You must have the right to provide content you upload or forward. Booking confirmations can contain personal information about travelling companions or other people. Do not upload or forward passwords, full payment-card numbers, passport scans, health/special-category information or other sensitive material that is not necessary for the planning feature you are using.

Do not upload unlawful material, malware or content that infringes another person's rights.

5. AI-assisted features

The Booking Inbox/document-import extractor and AI Trip Assistant use artificial intelligence. When you use those features, the content and trip context described in the Privacy Policy can be sent to OpenAI and, when fallback is required, Anthropic.

AI output can be incomplete, outdated, misread or wrong. Booking extraction is subject to mapv.io validation and review rules, but you remain responsible for checking important reservation details. Trip Assistant answers are informational and should not be treated as authoritative travel, legal, medical, financial, safety or emergency advice. When you ask the Trip Assistant to change an itinerary, it can prepare a structured proposal for review, but it does not apply that proposal until you explicitly choose to apply the reviewed changes.

AI features cannot make a purchase, cancel a reservation or contact a travel provider on your behalf unless a future feature expressly says otherwise and asks for appropriate confirmation. The current service does not use AI for decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects about users.

6. Travel information and safety

Routes, travel times, place details, opening hours, admission windows, weather, warnings and schedule calculations are estimates or third-party information and can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Conditions can change after a trip is planned.

You remain responsible for checking critical information with the relevant operator or official source and deciding whether a route, road, trail, activity or transport option is suitable, lawful and safe for you. Follow local laws, closures, signs, access restrictions, weather warnings and instructions from authorities or operators.

Do not rely on mapv.io as your sole source for emergency information, mountain safety, aviation, marine navigation, driving restrictions or another safety-critical decision.

7. Bookings, payments and travel providers

Booking and cost features organise information you provide. mapv.io does not currently take payment, issue tickets or make reservations. Any purchase, booking, cancellation, refund or dispute with a travel provider remains between you and that provider.

External sites and travel providers have their own terms, prices, privacy practices and availability. mapv.io is not responsible for their acts, omissions, content or performance.

8. Third-party technology and data

Map, place, geocoding and route features use Google Maps Platform. Your use of Google Maps features is also subject to the Google Maps End User Additional Terms and Google's applicable policies. Weather features use Open-Meteo under its applicable terms and attribution/licensing conditions.

AI features use OpenAI and can conditionally use Anthropic as described above. Email delivery and forwarded Booking Inbox email use Namecheap Private Email. These providers can change their services, terms, availability and data practices independently of mapv.io.

Provider names, maps, place/route/weather information and other third-party content remain subject to the provider's intellectual-property rights, licence terms and attribution requirements.

9. Public trips

If you deliberately mark a trip public, you grant mapv.io a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce and display the public version of that trip and make its clone feature available while the trip remains public. Other users may create their own editable copy.

Only publish content you have the right to share. Do not place confidential booking details, unnecessary personal information about other people, unlawful content or infringing material in public-facing trip fields.

If you believe a public trip contains unlawful or rights-infringing material, contact [email protected] and include the exact public-trip URL, what material you are reporting, why you believe it is unlawful or infringes your rights, and a way to contact you. mapv.io may restrict or remove content where required by law or these Terms.

10. Availability and changes

mapv.io may update, add, limit or remove beta features and may suspend service for maintenance, security, provider limitations, legal compliance or operational reasons. No particular feature, integration or level of availability is guaranteed.

Access can be limited or suspended where reasonably necessary to protect mapv.io, other users, third-party services, legal compliance or security, including for abuse or material breach of these Terms.

11. mapv.io materials

The mapv.io service, branding, interface and original software/content are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These Terms do not transfer ownership of mapv.io materials or third-party provider content to you.

12. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, this free beta is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee that every route, place, forecast, timing, warning, AI output or third-party result is accurate or continuously available.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Subject to those mandatory rights, you are responsible for your travel decisions and independently verifying information where an error could cause loss, missed travel, injury or other harm.

13. Ending use of the service

You may stop using mapv.io at any time and can permanently delete your account from Account settings. Account deletion cannot be undone and removes account-owned content as described in the Privacy Policy. Limited records can be retained where reasonably necessary for security, accountability, dispute handling or legal obligations.

14. Governing law and mandatory rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply under the law of their country of residence or other applicable EU law. Nothing in these Terms waives rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

15. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated as the beta changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice before the change takes effect.
